Twenty-four time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic has been knocked out in the first round of the 2026 US Open.
Novak Djokovic, lost in five sets to Argentine Mariano Navone 6-7, 7-5, 6-4, 2-6, 1-6 on the opening day in one of the biggest upsets in men's tennis.
The match lasted four hours and 36 minutes as Navone claimed the biggest win of his career so far.
Four-time winner Djokovic, was chasing a record 25th Grand Slam title at this year's event in New York.
This is his first-ever US Open first-round defeat for Djokovic, his earliest Grand Slam exit since the 2006 Australian Open.
World No. 49 Mariano Navone produced the biggest win of his career as Djokovic struggled physically during the match and was visibly emotional afterward.
