Pressure is mounting on Ghana Premier League (GPL) leaders Medeama SC to make good on their position on the table and go all the way to win a second Ghanaian top-flight title.
The Mauve and Yellow, are top of the stairs with 46 points, one point ahead of reigning champions Bibiani Gold Stars with nine matches to end the season.
Medeama SC are winless in their last five league games, leaving some connoisseurs to question their eagerness to win the competition.
In their last five games, the Mauve and Yellow have lost 2-1 to Nations FC away; drawn
1-1 with Aduana FC at home and played out a goalless drawn game away to
FC Samartex.
They played out another scoreless draw away to Swedru All Blacks before losing 2-1 at home to Hohoe United last Sunday at Tarkwa.
Medeama SC have picked up just three points from a possible 15 from their last five matches, and their once healthy lead at the summit of the ladder is now down to one point.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko is under huge pressure to deliver the GPL title this season considering the massive investments made into the squad by the club's management.
However, the former Ghana international has played down this setback, insisting that they are on track towards winning a second Ghanaian championship since their maiden triumph in the season of 2022/23.
That remains to be seen, and how Coach Tanko turns things around will be an interesting tale when the season closes in knowing whether Medeama SC are champions or not.
