GPL MD25 review: Defeats for Medeama SC, Asante Kotoko and Bibiani Gold Stars

There were defeats for Medeama SC, Asante Kotoko and Bibiani Gold Stars on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) on a day some shock results were recorded.

The six matches played recorded 11 goals across board  with four home wins, an away victory and one drawn game.

Aduana FC won 2-0 at home to bottom side Eleven Wonders at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, Dormaa-Ahenkroh.

The Fire Lads are third on the log with 41 points, five points behind leaders Medeama SC.

Heart of Lions won 1-0 at home to Swedru All Blacks at the Kpando Sports Stadium to take their points tally to 33 and in 10th position.

All Blacks are in the relegation zone with 28 points, and in danger of heading back to Division One.

Accra Hearts of Oak played out a goalless drawn game at home to Basake Holy Stars at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legon.

The Phobians are fourth with 41 points, with Holy Stars 11th position with 33 points.

Karela United beat Asante Kotoko 1-0 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Tamale to put some daylight between them and the relegation zone.

United, are now sixth on the table with 38 points, one point behind Asante Kotoko who are fifth.

Leaders Medeama SC lost 2-1 at home to Hohoe United at the TnA Stadium, Tarkwa, their first setback in front of their fans this season.

Prior to this clash, Medeama SC had gone unbeaten in 12 home games, winning eight and drawing four.

Reigning champions Bibiani Gold Stars lost 3-1 away to Young Apostles at the Wenchi Sports Stadium.

They remain second on the table with 45 points with Young Apostles up to 30 points, two points above the relegation zone.
