The race to secure qualification to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) from the UMB Division One League, (DOL) started on Friday with four matches played on Friday.
Steadfast FC of Tamale were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Wa Power Sporting Club in Zone One.
Yakeen Nurudeen converted a penalty for Steadfast FC with Songbaare Cidoth on the score sheet for Wa Power Sporting Club.
7th Wave FC also played out a 1-1 drawn game at home to True Democracy FC in Zone Three.
Maxwell Djomeda scored the lone goal for 7th Wave FC with Cephas Atakli on target for True Democracy FC.
Also in Zone Three, Accra Lions Football Club beat Golden Warriors FC 2-0 in their encounter.
Isaac Yawson and Diarra Abdoulaye, scored the two goals for the former GPL campaigners.
In Zone Two, Nsuopun Fidelity FC posted a 1-0 home win over Kwamo Future Stars FC to take home all three points.
Seth Asamanyua scored the match winner as his side started the campaign with a win.
The rest of the matches in the DOL, will be played on Saturday and Sunday in all three zones.
