Asante Kotoko coach steps down

Asante Kotoko legend Abdul Karim Zito Kabutey has resigned from his role as head coach of the Porcupines, the club gas confirned.

Coach Zito's last game in charge of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club was on Sunday when they bowed out of the MTN FA Cup competition at the Round of 16 to Aduana FC in Kumasi.

Asante Kotoko, are the defending champions if this competition having won it last year under Coach Zito.

The club announced on their social media channels on Monday evening that Coach Zito has with immediate effect, left his role as helmsman.

The Kotoko release stated that, they Management has accepted the resignation, expressed its appreciation to the coach for his services during his stay and wished him the very best for the future.

Asante Kotoko further said a new technical direction for the club will communicated in due course for the rest of the season.

The Porcupines will next be in action on Sunday when they host their arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.

Kotoko are fifth on the league table with 35 points, eight points behind leaders Medeama SC after 21 matches in the 18-club contest.
