The football authorities in Croatia have announced that national team head coach Zlatko Dalić is to step down following their exploits at the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
Zlatko Dalić is leaving after nearly nine years of impressive success in charge of the central European nation.
During his stay as national team coach, he led Croatia to a World Cup final in 2018 in Russia after losing out to France.
At the 2022 event in Qatar, Croatia placed third as the tournament was won by Argentina for a third time.
The country under Dalic, had a very good run in the Nations League as they made the final in the 2023 competition.
At the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States, Croatia exited at the Round of 32 stage after losing to Portugal.
The country will now look for a new coach to guide their talented brand of players to new heights as they rebuild a new team to replace this aging squad.
