New helmsman at Asante Kotoko

Asante Kotoko have announced Coach Prince Yaw Owusu as temporarily head coach following the resignation of Abdul Karim Zito in Monday.


Coach Zito, stepped down from his position after Kotoko lost to Aduana FC in the MTN FA Cup competition on Sunday.


The Porcupines, are the defending champions but, have bowed out of the campaign after losing the Round of 16 tie against Aduana FC in front of their home fans.


Coach Owusu, who was assistant to Coach Zito, is expected to prepare the team for Sunday's crucial league game against their arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in Kumasi.


That game, will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium where Asante Kotoko are unbeaten at in the campaign this season.


Coach Owusu, will be assisted by  Mohammed Hamza Obeng who is also a coach at the club.


Asante Kotoko are fifth on the league table with 35 points after 21 matches, eight points behind leaders Medeama SC and a point adrift of Sunday's opponents Accra Hearts of Oak who are fourth.
