Port City FC have won the inaugural Accra City Invitational football tournament after beating hosts Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
An 88th minute goal handed Port City FC 1-0 win in the grand finale played at the Hearts Africa Academy Complex, Pobiman.
This pre-season tourney, also featured Vision FC and Swedru All Blacks who contested for the third and fourth positions.
That game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes with All Blacks winning 3-2 on penalties to claim third position.
The win in the grand finale, hands Port City FC a booster ahead of their maiden campaign in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) which starts next month.
The final against Accra Hearts of Oak was a closely fought affair with very few chances being created on the day.
It looked to be heading to penalties before Port City FC found an opening to score the only goal of the game.
They will look to build on this pre-season form as they head into their maiden campaign in the GPL.
Port City FC will open their account on their debut campaign in the Ghanaian top-flight against FC AshantiGold 04 on home in Kukurantumi on the weekend of September 4-6, 2026.
