Ghana international Tariq Lamptey made his long-awaited return to the football field after a long injury layoff on Saturday.
The defender, was part of the action on Saturday afternoon as his new side Queens Park Rangers (QPR) drew goalless at home to Bolton Wanderers in the English Championship.
Lamptey, is back on the pitch after 335 days away from competitive football due to an ACL injury that ended his time at Italian side Fiorentina.
That injury, saw the Ghanaian fullback miss out on the FIFA World Cup held in North America in June and July.
Lamptey came on as a substitute in QPR’s draw against Bolton, marking his first competitive appearance since his injury.
The 25-year-old joined the Championship side as a free agent this summer after agreeing to end his stay in Italy with Florentina.
He will look to enjoy more playing time with the London club this season after they battle to secure promotion to the English Premier League.
Also, Lamptey will hope to catch the eye of the national team selectors as the Black Stars gear up for the start of the qualification process for the next Africa Cup of Nations football tournament.
