President Simeon-Okraku tours Northern regions to rally support for Ghana football

President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku is in a tour of the Northern regions as he seeks support for the game this year.

The began in the Upper West region on Tuesday, and he will spend four days touring the three Northern regions.


President Simeon-Okraku has already held high-level engagement with the leadership of the Upper West Regional Footbal Association in Wa. 


He later engaged club owners, CEOs, administrators, match commissioners and Referees in   Wa on the first day of his visit. 


Later, the Ghana FA Capo engaged the Upper East regional House of Chiefs, to seek royal prayers and support for Ghana football ahead of what promises to be a challenging year.


President Simeon-Okraku has also called on the Upper East Regional Minister to deepen collaboration for football development in the region.


He called for a strong push for youth football infrastructure and development as Ghana seeks to be a world beater.


Mr Simeon-Okraku later paid homage to the Wa-Naa, to seeks for prayers and royal support for Ghana football ahead of the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States. 


He will also visit the Upper East region before rounding up the tour in the Northern region.
