Port City FC have opened up a 10 points lead at the summit of the Zone Three table as they seek a maiden appearance in the Elite Division of Ghana football.
The Tema-based side, beat rivals True Democracy FC 1-0 on Wednesday at the Kukurantumi Ohene Park to extend their lead on the table.
Head coach Alfred Djanie said, they are not being carried away with their huge lead at the top of the stairs with eight matches to end the season.
"There is all to play for, and we will build on this performance until qualification to the Ghana Premier League (GPL), is achieved.
After 22 matches, Port City have 49 points and in a comfortable place, looking good to securing the sole ticket from the zone to the GPL next season.
Koforidua Semper Fi are in second position with 39 points with Home Stars, 37 and Attram De Visser, 36 points, in third and fourth positions respectively.
With eight more games left to conclude the season, qualification is not secured yet with all to play for among the competing clubs.
