NSA Clarifies Baba Yara Stadium Pitch Maintenance
The Ashanti Regional Directorate of the National Sports Authority (NSA) has dismissed allegations of financial impropriety following a viral video showing maintenance work on the Baba Yara Sports Stadium pitch.
The Authority explained that the pitch is undergoing planned off-season renovation to remove invasive weeds, level the surface, improve drainage, and re-establish healthy natural grass ahead of the 2026/27 football season.
The NSA emphasized that the maintenance follows internationally accepted best practices and is aimed at restoring a safe, durable, and high-quality playing surface before competitive matches resume.
