The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has granted Category 2 Stadium Approval to the TnA Stadium at Tarkwa following a comprehensive technical inspection conducted by CAF's stadium infrastructure experts.
The approval marks another important milestone in Ghana's drive to improve football infrastructure and reflects the country's unwavering commitment to meeting the latest CAF Stadium Regulations and international best practices.
With the Category 2 certification, the TnA Stadium is now eligible to host CAF Youth and Women's National Team qualifying matches, as well as Preliminary Round fixtures of CAF Interclub competitions, subject to CAF's final confirmation in accordance with its competition regulations.
With this development, Ghana champions Medeama SC will be able to host their CAF Champions League preliminary round of matches at their home venue.
The Mauve and Yellow, have earlier made their intentions clear on hosting their continental matches in front of their home fans.
The two-time Ghana champions, will be hoping to make it to the group stage of the competition as they partake in the tourney for the second time.
