Reigning Ghana Premier League (GPL) champions Bibiani Gold Stars will face a stern test today as they confront Aduana FC in the opening game of the Matchday 29 fixtures.
The Miners are in the Bono region for this encounter that will be played at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park.
The venue have been a difficult one for visiting teams since Aduana FC entered the Ghanaian top-flight and Gold Stars will not have things easy in this afternoon's encounter.
The Miners top the league after 28 games as they seek to win back-to-back GPL titles with six matches to end the season.
A win will maintain their status on top of the stairs going into the next round of matches next weekend.
However, defeat could see Medeama SC leapfrog them at the top of the table if they win their home game against Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
Victory, will see Aduana FC jump fourth on the table ahead of the rest of the Matchday 29 matches on Saturday and Sunday.
And, the Fire Lads have made clear their intentions of going for the three points as they play the defending champions on home soil.
They will look to make the most of home advantage at a venue they are very difficult to beat on any day.
