The traditional curtain raiser to the start of the Ghana football season, the Champion of Champions match, will be played on Sunday, August 30, 2026 in Tarkwa.

Medeama SC, won the Ghana Premier League (GPL) title last season, the second in the club's history.
Nations FC won their first major silverware in Ghana football when they lifted the MTN FA Cup competition last season.
The next GPL campaign has been programmed to start on the weekend of September 4-6, 2026 with 18 clubs set to participate.
Medeama SC and Nations FC, will be exempt from the opening round of matches as they will be engaged in African club competition.
The Mauve and Yellow will face DR Congo giants TP Mazembe on home soil in Tarkwa in a first leg CAF Champions League preliminary round contest.
Nations FC will travel to Mali to play FC Diarra in a first leg CAF Confederation Cup preliminary game.
Their first games of the new GPL campaign will therefore be postponed.
