The name Philemon Nana Akomeah Sakyi may not ring a bell at the moment, but the young man is craving a name for himself in the football arena in Ghana, hoping to rise to the very top.
Young and energetic, Coach Sakyi, played football, and after his career, has entered into coaching.
His latest job is taking up the helmsman role at second division side First Klass FC in the Ashanti Region ahead of the start of the 2025/26 season.
He hopes to guide the side to glory in the coming campaign, aiming to qualify the club to the second tier league.
Coach Sakyi holds CAF license C certificate and is hoping to write for the license B soon.
The young man, have also done some European club and community football courses.
Coach Sakyi guided First Klass FC to win the DR OGBORJOR CUP in Konongo one week after his appointment, signalling good things to come for the club.
Previously, he qualified FRIENHOFF FOOTBALL ACADEMY to the Central regional Division Two League in the 2023/24 season and helped the team to win the Zone Four league.
That qualified them for a playoff position to the First Division where they were knocked out in the finals in that playoff.
He also led the club to gain a first ever qualification to the MTN FA Cup competition before parting ways with Frienhoff FC.
Coach Sakyi, formerly coached Ausbort SC, United Black Eagles among others where he exeled.
Next season, he will look to build on these achievements as he continues with what would hopefully be a successful path.
