Asante Kotoko in a positive mood

Asante Kotoko interim coach Prince Yaw Owusu said he is okay with the performance put up by the team after their recent setbacks.

The Porcupines, secured an improvement 2-0 away win over Young Apostles at Wenchi in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday to keep their title hopes alive.

This came after defeats to Aduana FC in the MTN FA Cup competition and to Accra Hearts of Oak in the league in their last two games.

Last Sunday's win, have moved Kotoko fourth on the table with 38 points, seven points behind leaders Medeama SC after 23 matches.

And, Coach Owusu is pleased with the progress so far after taking over from Abdul Karim Zito who stepped down a couple of weeks ago.

“It means a lot to me. This is my first win, and it makes people recognise what I can do," Coach Owusu said after yesterday's win.

He added: “There was pressure, the players felt it, we spoke to them and asked them to put the pressure behind and focus on how we wanted to play, they listened, and it worked perfectly for us.”

"Once we scored the two goals, everything became clear in our performance and we will build on this for the rest of the campaign," he said.

Asante Kotoko will return to action in the league this weekend with a home game against Vision FC at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi on Sunday.
