The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) has confirmed Botswana as the next host of the African Senior Athletics Championships in 2028.
Ghana is hosting the 24th edition of the Championship from May 12-17, 2026 at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legon.
Athletes from 54 African nations have gathered in the Ghanaian capital for the event
The CAA, announced Botswana as hosts of the next edition in 2028.
Botswana Athletics Association acting President, Oabona Theetso said after the CAA meeting in Accra, Ghana on Monday.
“It is a done deal Africa will come to Botswana in 2028.
The Championships organised by the CAA, serves as a major continental event for elite track and field athletes.
The event in Botswana in two years time, comes after the country recently hosted this year's World Relays.
