Bechem United are 11th with 37 points, four points above the relegation zone.
Accra Hearts of Oak are in third position with 46 points as they maintained their championship hopes alive.
The Phobians secured a hard-fought 1-0 home win over Young Apostles at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Young Apostles are in the bottom three with 33 points with games running out as they seek to stay up.
Asante Kotoko complete the top four with 43 points, and they can return to the third position if they beat FC Samartex in Kumasi this afternoon.
Basake Holy Stars took their points tally to 40 after beating Karela United 1-0 at the Ampian AAK II Sports Arena, Azulewanu.
They sit in seventh position, one point behind Karela United who are sixth.

All Blacks eased some of their relegation worries with a 1-0 home win over Dreams FC at the Swedru Sports Stadium.
The Black magicians are 12th with 35 points with Dreams FC ninth with 37 points.
Berekum Chelsea beat Aduana FC 1-0 in a home game played at the Golden City Park, Berekum.
They moved up to 13th on the table with 35 points with Aduana FC in fifth position with 42 points.
