Ghana's Daniel Wadieh on Sunday defeated Ken Saleh of DR Congo in the finals of the Lightweight division of the 2026 African Mixed Martial Arts Championship in Luanda, Angola.
Ghana was taking part in the championships for the first time and the athlete, Wadieh was a delight to watch.
The strong, skilful, talented and super performer, was a delight to watch in the final contest.
Daniel Wadieh was Ghana's only athlete at the 2026 All African Mixed Martial Arts Championship in Luanda, Angola and he made the nation very proud as one of the noticed athletes.
On his way to winning gold, he defeated Alex Junior Kamgang of Cameroun at the semi-finals stage, after coming through the prelims and quater finals.
He said, Africa should watch out because Ghana is coming with some terminators to dominate the sport going forward.
According to Wadieh the future is very important and that Ghana should get tougher fighters in the future.
President of the Ghana Federation Collins Zoiku, expressed joy because he predicted gold for Wadieh, and it has happened.
He said, Daniel prepared well and he lifted the flag of Ghana high in style.
Daniel Wadieh is based in the Netherlands and is handled by Dutch coaches Frans Djimtche and Emirhan Bulduk.
Mr Zoiku asked the Ghana government to invest in MMA as the country has the potential to do well in the sport.
