Paris Saint Germain (PSG) defender Marquinhos will be the captain of the Brazilian national team at the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
Marquinhos, will lead the Selecao on the field at the Mundial as they attempt to win a record extending sixth title.
The defender, has just led his French side to glory in the European Champions League after they successfully defended the trophy they won last season.
In yesterday's grand finale in Budapest, Bulgaria, Marquinhos captained PSG to defeat English side Arsenal 4-3 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 after extra time.
Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti will hope Marquinhos will translate that positive value to the national team as they compete at the Mundial in Canada, Mexico and the United States in June and July.
Marquinhos has been handed the number 4 shirt ahead of the tournament.
Brazil, will play in Group C at the World Cup alongside Haiti, Scotland and Morocco.
The tournament starts on June 11 and ends on July 19 with Argentina as the defending champions after winning the last edition in Qatar four years ago.
