Benjamin Asare becomes the sixth goalkeeper from the Ghana Premier League to represent Ghana at the FIFA World Cup.

Stephen Adams of Aduana FC, made the cut for the 2024 event in Brazil that was won by Germany.
In the last edition in 2022 in Qatar, Danlad Ibrahim of Asante Kotoko made the squad as Ghana exited the competition at the group stage.

Only four goalkeepers have featured for the Black Stars at the FIFA World Cup, with Richard Kingson holding the record for the most appearances.
The former Accra Great Olympics shot-stopper, made a total of nine appearances for the Black Stars between 2006 and 2010.
Lawrence Ati-Zigi who is part of Ghana's team for this World Cup, has made three appearances.
With two appearances is Fatau Dauda, both made at the 2014 event in Brazil.
