Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare said they will rise from their current slumber as the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League (GPL) nears the end.

The Phobians, are winless in their last two games, coming after their win over rivals Asante Kotoko in Kumasi in the super clash a couple of weeks ago.

Hearts of Oak drew goalless at home after that Kotoko victory and, lost to Bibiani Gold Stars in their last game last season.

The capital club are third on the table with 40 points, six points behind leaders Medeama SC after 24 matches.

“We take responsibility. The fans deserve better and we will show it on Sunday,” Benjamin Asare told the club's media.

That showing will be against Basake Holy Stars on Sunday at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legon.

And, Asare is promising that they will rise to this challenge on Sunday as they aim for a first win in three matches.

Hearts of Oak still harbour hopes of winning the title this season, and for that to remain on course, they need not drop points this weekend.

This is what the Hearts of Oak captain said they will do and, this is what connoisseurs will be keeping an eye on going forward.
