Boxing: Ghana's Theo Allotey beat Facundo Garcia to move closer to world title shot

Ghana's Theophilus 'Lopez' Allotey defeated Facundo David Garcia on Saturday at the Bukom Boxing Arena in their WBA Super Flyweight world title eliminator.

The win, moved Allotey closer to a world title shot as he continues with his ambition.

All the three judges scored the bout 120-107 in favour of Allotey who was
backed by 4000 fans in the Arena.

Allotey put Garcia on the canvas in round one as he dominated the 12 round contest.

Allotey's coach Dr. Ofori Asare was happy with the result and assured Ghanaians that very soon they will get another world champion.

Allotey is now undefeated in 17 fights as he holds the WBO Africa Super Flyweight title as well as the WBA Africa, UBO Africa and the Ghana national titles.

In other bouts, 2020 Olympic bronze medalist, Samuel Takyi won by a knock out against his Botswana challenger Steven Bagwasi in round two.

David Amenuveve defeated Eric Mensah,
Joseph knocked out Felix Mankattah in their contest.

In the main undercard, Micheal Decardi Nelson and Jerry Klutei Robertson thrilled fans as their bout ended in a draw.
