Teenage athletics sensation Blessed Owusu, who was crowned the overall best athlete at the recently held Ashanti Regional Schools and Colleges athletics Super Zonals, has presented his trophies and medals to the Mayor of Kumasi, Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi.
The Form One student of St. Hubert's Seminary Senior High School, thrilled spectators at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi winning gold in the 100m, 200m, and 400m finals.
He set a new 400m record of 46.21 seconds.
Accompanied by school authorities and teammates, the young champion officially presented his laurels to the Mayor on Monday.
He and fellow athlete Anthony Asare, first runner-up in the pole vault, were rewarded and encouraged to stay disciplined and focused on their journey to stardom.
The school’s Headmaster, Eric Kyei, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and appealed for support to secure a proper sports field for the school to help nurture more talents.
