The fourth edition of the Tampico Accra Inter-City Marathon was launched at a successful event at the Zimansky Hotel, Roman Ridge, Accra on Tuesday .
About 2,000 participants are expected to partake in this upcoming mass race that will hit the streets of the Ghanaian capital in October.
More than GH¢100,000 in prize money and other souvenirs will at be shared among runners, skaters, para-athletes on a day expected to be fun for families, friends and fans all together.
Headline sponsors of the event Tampico, have promised to make this year's event an unforgettable one for all concerned.
The 2026 Tampico Accra Inter-City Marathon, will be more than a marathon, and will start and end at the Bukom Boxing Arena, Accra.
It's being organized by Medivents Consult with Tampico as the main headline sponsor and, would be held in the Ghanaian capital on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
The Race Director is William Ezah who have been organizing these mass races since 2018 across Ghana.
"The challenges have been enormous, but, the resolve to make this marathon an international feature, has kept us going," Mr Ezah said at the press launch.
The headline sponsors, announced that October 10, 2026, will be a Tampico Marathon Day worldwide, and they look forward to welcoming the world to Ghana.
The event will be in two phases, a 21km and 5km road races as Ghana looks forward to welcoming new champions.
Registration for the event is opened, and wouldbe participants can register by dialing *380*21# on all mobile phone networks and follow the prompts.
The fourth Tampico Accra Inter-City Marathon is supported by MYST Water, MAPHLIX, GWO SEVO, SOCCA BOX, Ethiopian Airways, Capelli Sport and Zimansky Hotel.
