What Next For Accra Hearts of Oak After Gbese Mantse Homowo Charity Peace Cup Triumph?

Accra Hearts of Oak won the 2025 Gbese Mantse Homowo Charity Peace Cup with a comfortable 2-0 victory of Kpando Heart of Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

This was their second successive win in this annual game to celebrate the yearly festival of the chiefs and people of the Ga traditional area.

The game was a good pre-season exercise for Hearts of Oak as they aim to do well in the upcoming football season in Ghana.

The Phobians, will look to build on this pre-season form ahead of the start of the 2025/26 Ghana football season in September.

Expectations will be high for Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani and his charges considering the form they have shown in their preparations for next season.

Last season, the Phobians finished fourth in the Ghana Premier League (GPL), campaign and, also failed to win the knock out competition.

Fans of the capital city club, will be yearning for silverware in the upcoming season where they will be competing on two fronts, the GPL and the FA Cup.

Ahead of the start of those competitions,

Hearts of Oak will compete in the GHALCA Top Four tournament that starts on Wednesday in Accra.

Coach Dramani, has another opportunity to get his boys in shape in this pre-season competition before the season starts.

Ghana champions Bibiani Gold Stars, Heart of Lions and Asante Kotoko, will also compete in this pre-season competition.

The 2025/26 GPL campaign, starts on the weekend of September 12-14 with Hearts of Oak set to play new entrants Hohoe United in their first game at the Accra Sports Stadium.
