Asante Kotoko goalkeeper and captain Frederick Asare said his side have 12 finals to play if they are to win the League and Cup double this season.
The record Ghana champions, are top of the standings in the Ghana Premier League, (GPL), two points ahead of second placed Bibiani Gold Stars going into this weekend’s action.
With 10 games to end the league campaign, Kotoko are looking to win a record extending 25th GPL title.
The Porcupines, are also through to the semifinals of the MTN FA Cup competition where they will play Berekum Chelsea for a place in the grand finale as they aim to win the competition for a 10th time.
And, Asare said they will aim to win their remaining games of the season to complete this historic feat.
“We have 12 finals to play, and we aim to win all of them to complete our ambition of winning the league and the FA Cup this season,” Asare told Kumasi-based radio station Wuntumi FM on Friday.
Asante Kotoko will host Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi in a GPL Matchday 27 fixture on Sunday.
A win for the Porcupines, will see them maintain top spot on the table and, move them a step closer towards this ambitious feat.
And, this is what Asare said they will be playing for on Sunday as they chase their 14th win of the campaign.
Kotoko will play Berekum Chelsea at Tarkwa next month for a place in the final of the FA Cup competition, a trophy they last won in 2017 when the beat their arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak 3-1 at Tamale.
