Access Bank Division One League (DOL), side True Democracy FC have thrown the challenge to Asante Kotoko Sporting Club ahead of their quarter final game in the MTN FA Cup competition.
The second tier side, will face the current leaders of the Ghana Premier League (GPL), on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi in the last of the quarter final ties.
And in showing their preparedness for the game, True Democracy FC said, they are ready and will cause an upset on the day.
“Are you prepared for a tough battle in your upcoming MTN FA Cup quarter-final game”?, True Democracy FC asked the Porcupines on their media channels.
” We’re bringing the entire city of Tema to Kumasi to support our team”, they added.
The Tema-based club, have also tagged the game ‘Operation PAYDAY’ as they aim to cause the biggest shock in this season’s campaign.
True Democracy FC further wrote: “This encounter against one of the best teams on the continent offers us the unique opportunity to show our brand of soccer to the world”.
“We acknowledge the might of our opponents but that gives us the extra motivation to go and give it our best shot”.
“The task looks herculean but trust the conquering Lion to come out with heads up”, their statement concluded.
Sunday’s game, will Kick off at 7:00 PM local time in the Garden City with both sides looking to advance to the last four of the competition.
Asante Kotoko, are massive favourites to win this tie, but, in the history of the knockout competition, some huge upsets have been recorded, and, another cannot be ruled out.
All four quarter final ties, will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium this weekend with the games spread over two days on Saturday and Sunday.
The first game on Saturday, will see Attram de Visser playing fellow DOL side PAC Academy at 3:00 PM before topflight sides Berekum Chelsea face Bechem United at 7:00 PM.
GPL side Karela United will play Golden Kick FC in Sunday’s first game before Asante Kotoko takes to the field against True Democracy FC in the evening.
