Setback for Ghana in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers as Black Stars draw 1-1 with Chad
I
Ghana suffered a setback in their quest to qualify for next year’s FIFA World Cup after playing out a disappointing draw away to Chad on Thursday.
The Black Stars topped Group I ahead of today’s game in N’Djamena, but they could not post a win over the bottom placed side who were without a point going into this encounter.
Ghana captain Jordan Ayew opened the scoring for the Black Stars inside the first 20 minutes, but, it was all that Coach Otto Addo and his charges could muster in a very disappointing performance against a side that had lost all six games they have played prior to this tie.
Chad, got the equalizer with seconds to end the encounter at the newly built Stade Olympique Idriss Deby Itno to wild jubilations by the home crowd.
The Black Stars will next play Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium where they will look to bounce back to winning ways in this very competitive group.
