MidCity FC Cruise To Ashanti Second Division Middle League, Fears None Ahead Of Competition

Sensational MidCity FC have qualified for the Ashanti Regional Division Two Middle League after cruising through their zone.

The Lions, dominated the field in Zone Two, finishing the campaign 10 points clear at the top of the stairs.

And, chieftains at the club have now turned their attention to the middle league competition that leads to qualification to the National Division One League (DOL), in Ghana.

The dates and venue for the promotional tournament, would be announced by the Ashanti Regional Football Association soon.

In the just ended zonal league, MidCity FC, brushed off competition from eight other clubs in their zone to finish the campaign with 37 points from the 16 matches they played.

The Lions, were also the top scoring club in the zone as the closed the league with a goals difference of plus 17.

Mahala FC finished second with 27 points with Pro Players Academy third with 26 points.

Kumasi AIK FC, (26), Dabo Soccer Academy, (24), Excel SC, (23), Step FC, (17), Kumasi Academicals, (13) and Bantama Lions FC with four points, finished in that order on the table.

In the upcoming promotional tournament, MidCity FC will face competition from the winners of the other zones, but, the club is in good stead for this challenge.

Last season, MidCity FC lost the playoff final as they missed qualification to the DOL on the last day of the season.

The Lions, are determined to go one step further this season to cap off what has been a very good campaign with the club having also qualified for next season’s MTN FA Cup competition.
