Mfantsipim School, Efutu SecTech wins Central region Zone Three athletics competition

Mfantsipim School, Cape Coast and Efutu Secondary Technical, have won this year’s Central region Schools and Colleges Zone Three athletics competition.

The two-day event, ended at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Tuesday, and featured 14 second cycle institutions in the zone.

In the boy’s competition, Mfantsipim School, came up tops to clinch their fifth consecutive Zonal Three title to underline their status as the best in the zone by a distance.

Team Botwe, amassed 183 points to take the first position and of St Augustine’s College who finished in second position with 155 points.

Efutu Secondary Technical, had 111 points to finish third ahead of Abrakrampa SHTS who placed fourth with 49 points.

Sammo SHS, gathered 48 points to finish in fifth position to join the top four schools for the Super Zonals.

In the girl’s category, Efutu Senior High Technical School claimed victory with 207 points.

Sammo SHS, finished second with 111 points ahead of third placed Wesley Girls High School who amassed 88 points.

Oguaa Secondary Technical, finished fourth with 55 points with Holy Child School placing fifth with 49 points.

All five schools, also qualified for the Super Zonals in the girl’s category.

The best athlete in the boy’s category, went to Mfantsipim School’s Joseph Andoh Kwofie for winning gold in the  100m, 200m, 4x100m and 4x200m.

In the girl’s category, Believe Dufe Makafui of Efutu Senior High Technical School won the award after winning 100m Hurdles, 200m and 400m gold.
