Ghana’s national Table Tennis Team, the Black Loopers, will compete in the 2025 West Africa Table Tennis championship later this month.
Nigeria will host the tournament between July 16 and 19, at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
Over 10 countries are expected to participate in the tournament with Nigeria as defending women’s champions.
Ghana will be represented at the upcoming championships in both the men and women’s event.
The men’s team includes Emmanuel Commey, Israel Aklie, James Marfo, Francis Antwi, and Godwin Alabi.
The women’s team will feature Cynthia Kwabi, Celia Baah-Danso, Bernice Borquaye, Eva Adom-Amankwaa, and Hilda Agbottah.
Coach David Senyo Ahiaba will lead the men’s team, with Eva Ampah serving as his assistant and also overseeing the women’s team.
Togo, are the defending men’s champions having won last year’s competition which they hosted.
The tournament serves as qualifiers for the 2025 African championship to be hosted by Rwanda.
