The suspended 2024/25 Ghana Premier League (GPL), season, is set to resume with the Matchday 23 fixtures next weekend.
This, has been confirmed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), after a meeting with the 18 clubs that compete in the competition.
The season was put on hold after the Matchday 19 action following the stabbing to death of a fan of Asante Kotoko during their away game with Nsoatreman FC at Nsoatre on February 2, 2025.
The GFA, has directed the clubs to adhere new safety measures to prevent the occurrences that led to the death of Francis Yaw Frimpong popularly known as Nana Pooley at Nsoatre.
The competition will resume on the weekend of March 7-10, 2025 with action across all centers.
All 18 clubs will therefore have three outstanding fixtures as the GFA tries to beat the the calendar it set prior to the start of the season.
The football controlling body, has fixed the Matchday 20 fixtures to be played between March 18-20 with the Matchday 21 matches set for April 1-3, 2025.
The last round of outstanding games would be played between April 15-17 to bring the campaign back on track as Ghana seeks to beat the Confederation of African Football (CAF), deadline.
Bibiani Gold Stars, were on top of the stairs before the season was suspended with Asante Kotoko, Heart of Lions and Accra Hearts of Oak following in that order.
When the season resumes with the Matchday 23 fixtures, Dreams FC will host Aduana FC with Heart of Lions playing away to Vision FC.
Accra Hearts of Oak will be home to Young Apostles FC, Bechem United will be in the road to face Medeama SC.
Bibiani Gold Stars will play at home to Nations FC, Asante Kotoko will host Legon Cities with Accra Lions playing away to Berekum Chelsea.
Karela United will host Basake Holy Stars with reigning champions FC Samartex playing away to Nsoatreman FC.
