Reigning Ghana Premier League (GPL), champions FC Samartex, will aim to end their five-games winless home run when they host Asante Kotoko on Saturday.
The Timber Giants, will face the league leaders at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, Samreboi as the competition continues with the Matchday 24 fixtures this weekend.
FC Samartex in their last five home games, have lost 1-0 to Young Apostles FC and Heart of Lions in the ongoing campaign.
The defending champions, then drew 1-1 with Nations FC before drawing goalless with Accra Hearts of Oak as they continued with the defence of the title they won last season.
In their last home game, FC Samartex drew 1-1 with Dreams FC to go winless in five matches in front of their fans for the first time in the club’s history since they joined the Ghanaian top-flight.
The last time they posted a home win in this season’s campaign, was on Matchday 10 against Legon Cities (1-0), in a closely fought affair.
Ending the winless home streak, is what confronts new coach Christopher Ennin who was in charge of the club for the home games against Hearts of Oak and Dreams FC.
Since taking charge at Samreboi as the new helmsman, FC Samartex are unbeaten in the four league matches they have played as they climb up the table.
Coach Ennin and his charges, will be out to beat Asante Kotoko in front of their home fans on Saturday.
That, however, would be a tough assignment for the home side as Asante Kotoko are on good form at the moment as they top the table, chasing a record extending 25th GPL title.
