Candidates competing for key roles in the upcoming Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), elections, have begun submitting their nominations to meet the deadline of Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
Richard Akpokavie, an experienced sports administrator and former Secretary General of the GOC, officially submitted his nomination to run for President on Tuesday.
The submission occurred at the GOC headquarters in Accra, setting the scene for an eagerly awaited elective congress planned for April 26 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
Akpokavie, who faces competition from Michael Aggrey, former President of the Ghana Golf Association and Chef du Mission of Tokyo 2020, handed in his nomination forms to Ms. Cynthia Wintima Akudugu.
Mohammed Mahadi, the President of the Ghana Fencing Association, also submitted his nomination. He will compete against Ernest Danso from Ghana Baseball and Softball.
