Record winners of the Ghana Premier League (GPL), Asante Kotoko, returned to the top of the stairs after last Sunday’s Matchday 25 encounters.
The Porcupines, won their game, and, there were also wins for Medeama SC, Accra Lions, Karela United and Dreams FC.
In the eight matches played, 12 goals were scored with three drawn games being recorded.
Kotoko, beat Basake Holy Stars 1-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi in a keenly contested affair in the Garden City.
The three points gained, moved Kotoko top of the table with 42 points as they chase a record extending 25th GPL title.
Basake Holy Stars, are in 14th position with 25 points.
At the TnA Stadium, Tarkwa, Medeama SC made good use of the home conditions to beat Aduana FC 2-0 to return to winning ways after losing last week.
The Yellow and Mauves, extended their points tally to 35 as they sit seventh on the table with Aduana FC in 11th position with 28 points.
Accra Lions, beat Legon Cities 2-1 in their relegation battle at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legon.
However, Lions remain bottom of the log with 20 points, a point below Legon Cities who are 17th on the table.
Karela United came from behind to beat Bechem United 2-1 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Tamale in the Northern region.
The win, takes their points buildup to 22 as they sit just above the relegation zone, with Bechem United in fifth position with 36 points.
Dreams FC continued with their winning run after scoring a last minute winner to beat Young Apostles FC 1-0 at the Tuba Astro Turf, Kasoa.
They have now amassed 30 points, and are ninth on the table with Young Apostles in 12th position with 28 points.
Gold Stars drew 1-1 with Accra Hearts of Oak at the Dun’s Park, Bibiani as the spoils were shared in a highly competitive fixture.
The Miners, are second on the table with 41 points with Hearts of Oak on 37 points and, in fourth position.
Berekum Chelsea and FC Samartex 1996, drew goalless at the Golden City Park, Berekum whilst the same result was played out between Vision FC and Nations FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku Sports Complex, Tema.
Berekum Chelsea, are 10th on the table with 29 points with FC Samartex in eighth position with 32 points.
Vision FC are 13th on the log with 25 points as Nations FC sit in sixth position with 36 points after Sunday’s round of matches in the GPL.
