Asante Kotoko coach Abdul Karim Zito said he was satisfied with the performance of his players in the Toyota Cup win over Kaiser Chiefs on Saturday.
The Porcupines, beat the South Africans 3-2 on penalties after the game ended goalless after 90 minutes at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban.
And Coach Zito, praised the performance of his charges who showed resilient effort to deny Kaiser Chiefs of a win in front of their home fans.
Goalkeeper Mohammed Camara saved four penalties in the win, as Kotoko continued with their preparations for next season with this win.
“When it comes to the win, I am satisfied with my players and tactically I am also satisfied,” Coach Zito said after the game.
The former Ghana international, has led Asante Kotoko to win three trophies since taking charge of the Garden City club.
They won the 2025 MTN FA Cup, the 2025 President Cup and the
2025 Toyota Cup.
This is good ambience to the team ahead of the start of the 2025/26 Ghana football season.
The team will return to Ghana in high hopes to continue with their pre-season programme before real competition starts.
Asante Kotoko, are scheduled to play in the GHALCA Top Four competition alongside league champions Bibiani Gold Stars, Heart of Lions and Accra Hearts of Oak.
The record Ghana champions, will later take on Gold Stars in a champion of champions clash next month to usher in the new season.
That campaign starts in September with Asante Kotoko also set to represent Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup competition.
