The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League (GPL), season, is set to open on Friday in the capital with a mouthwatering encounter.
Premier club, Accra Hearts of Oak will host newly promoted side Hohoe United in the first game of the campaign.
The game will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium tomorrow night with kick-off time set for 7:00 PM local time.
Hearts of Oak will be strong favourites to collect the three points against the top-flight debutants who gained promotion at the end of last season.
Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani and his charges, enjoyed a good pre-season, and the Phobians will be expected to carry the off-season form to this game.
They will hope to start the new campaign on a good note as they chase a first GPL title in five years.
Hohoe United will seek to make the most of this opportunity as they make their debut in the Ghanaian top-flight.
They gained qualification to the GPL last season when they won the Access Bank Division One League in Zone Three.
Going into tomorrow’s encounter, they will be the underdogs against a Hearts of Oak side that is not short on confidence at the moment.
Tomorrow’s encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium, should therefore be one to savour for followers of the Ghana football as another season begins.
