Accra Hearts of Oak, Hohoe United Among Winners On GPL Matchday 12 Weekend

There were four wins and four drawn games in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) Matchday 12 fixtures played on Saturday and Sunday.

Accra Hearts of Oak, Bibiani Gold Stars, Hohoe United and Basake Holy Stars all recorded wins on a thrilling weekend in the Ghanaian top-flight.

On Saturday, Hearts of Oak beat visiting Vision FC at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legon with Mawuli Wayo scoring the lone goal for the Phobians.

Sunday’s matches saw Asante Kotoko come from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi.

First half efforts by Derrick Fordjour and Yussif Mubarik for Medeama, were cancelled for Asante Kotoko by Peter Amidu Acquah and Samba O’niel as the spoils were shared.

Reigning champions Gold Stars won 1-0 at home to Aduana FC at the Dun’s Park, Bibiani with Samuel Attah Kumi in target for the Miners.

Heart of Lions were held to a goalless drawn game at home by Karela United at Kpando.

Bechem United suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Hohoe United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, Bechem.

Augustine Okrah got the consolation goal for the Hunters with Anane Keke David getting a brace as Hohoe United posted their first away win of the campaign.

The games betweenBerekum Chelsea and FC Samartex at Berekum as well as that between Swedru All Blacks and Young Apostles at Swedru, both ended goalless.

Basake Holy Stars won for the second game running with a hard-fought 1-0 home win over Nations FC as Prince Tweneboah scored the only goal of the game.

On Monday, Eleven Wonders will host Dreams FC at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legon.
