2025/26 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League Starts Friday

The 2025/26 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League (WPL), in Ghana is scheduled to kick-off on Friday in the South and Northern zones nationwide.

Twenty teams will compete in the upcoming championship which has Police Ladies as the reigning champions.

The 20 teams have been grouped into the Southern and Northern Zones with 1O teams in each pool.

The competition starts on Friday with the rest of the matches to be played on Saturday and Sunday.

Southern Zone

On Friday, defending champions Police Ladies, will begin the defence of their title with a game against Halifax Ladies at the Madina Astro Turf in Accra.

That game will kick-off at 1:30 PM, before Army Ladies takes on Epiphany Ladies at the same venue at 3:30 PM.

On Saturday, Oak Ladies, the female side of Ghana Premier League (GPL), giants Accra Hearts of Oak, will play Hasaacas Ladies at their Pobiman Training Complex in Accra at 3:00 PM.

Also on Saturday, Jonina Ladies will host Soccer Intellectuals at the same time at the Antie Aku Astro Turf.

The only game on Sunday in this zone, will come off at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, Samreboi where Samartex Ladies will host LadyStrikers.

Northern Zone

Action in the Northern Zone will also commence on Friday with FC Savannah hosting Ampem Darkoa Ladies at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Tamale at 10:00 AM.

Then at 3:00 PM at the same venue, Northern Ladies will play Prisons Ladies.

AshTown Ladies will host Kumasi Spots Academy at the Otumfour Park, Dichemso in Kumasi at 3:00 PM.

Two matches will be played on Saturday with Dreamz Ladies hosting Tamale Super Ladies at the Bantama Astro Turf in Kumasi.

Fosu Royal Ladies will be home to Northern City at the Techiman Urban Park kicking off at 3:00 PM.
