After the heroics of last season that saw Bibiani Gold Stars win their maiden Ghana Premier League (GPL), the new campaign begins this weekend with some mouthwatering Matchday One encounters.
The 2025/26 season begins on Friday in the capital when Accra Hearts of Oak hosts debutants Hohoe United at the Accra Sports Stadium.
This encounter, marks the launch of the new season, and kick-off has been set for 7:00 PM in the Ghanaian capital.
Two matches will be played on Saturday at Berekum and Bibiani with the rest of the opening weekend encounters to be played on Sunday.
Record Ghana champions Asante Kotoko will travel to Berekum to face local side Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park on Saturday afternoon.
That encounter will kick off at 3:00 PM as will be the other Saturday game between defending champions Gold Stars and Bechem United at the Dun’s Park, Bibiani.
Six matches will be played on Sunday starting at 3:00 PM to complete the Matchday One encounters across all centers.
Heart of Lions who finished second last season, will host Dreams FC at the Kpando Sports Stadium.
Basake Holy Stars will welcome newly promoted Techiman Eleven Wonders to the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, Samreboi.
Vision FC will host former champions FC Samartex 1996 at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex, Tema New Town.
Medeama SC will trek to the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, Dormaa-Ahenkro to face the might of Young Apostles.
Karela United will be home to Aduana FC at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Tamale.
Nations FC will host another new entrants Swedru All Blacks at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Abrankese-Kumasi to complete the opening weekend encounters in the Ghanaian top-flight league.
