The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League (GPL), campaign will be begin on the weekend of September 12-14, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has announced.
According to the programme drawn by the GFA, the campaign will run for 37 weeks, and will conclude on the weekend of May 23-24, 2026.
This, according to the GFA, is to ensure that domestic competitions are completed before the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be played in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
According to the GFA, the new calendar aligns with the global schedule of football’s governing body FIFA.
The GFA also confirmed that the 2025/26 Congress will take plays on August 12, a month before the season’s official kick off.
Additionally, the main registration window for the new season will open on Monday, June 23, and close on Sunday August 24, 2025, in accordance with GFA regulations.
Bibiani Gold Stars, will look to defend the title they won last season in the coming campaign.
Techiman Eleven Wonders, Hohoe United and Swedru All Blacks, have been promoted to the Elite Division, and will join 14 other clubs in trying to wrestle the title away from the Miners who won their maiden top-flight title on the last day of the season.
